British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”
