The incident caused the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two individuals are now facing charges related to a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and charges for using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.

The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a car park lift, authorities reported.

A young child was caught up in the incident during the incident. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.

This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – led to train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
